Soccer Betting Tips Explained
BTTS: BTTS stands for “both teams to score”. This is a type of bet where you predict whether both teams will score at least one goal each during the match. If both teams score, the bet wins. If only one team scores or no team scores, the bet loses.
Under/Over: Under/Over is a type of bet where you predict whether the total number of goals scored in a match will be over or under a certain amount set by the bookmaker. For example, if the bookmaker sets the total at 2.5, you can bet on whether there will be more (over) or less (under) than 2.5 goals scored in the match. If there are exactly 2 goals scored in the match, the bet is a push and you get your money back.
1×2: 1×2 is a type of bet where you predict the outcome of a match. The “1” stands for the home team to win, “x” stands for the match to end in a draw, and “2” stands for the away team to win. For example, if you bet on “1” and the home team wins, your bet is a winner. If you bet on “2” and the away team wins, your bet is a winner. If you bet on “x” and the match ends in a draw, your bet is a winner.
HT FT: HT FT stands for “half time/full time”. This is a type of bet where you predict both the half time and full time result of a match. There are 9 possible outcomes you can bet on, which are:
Home/Home (Home team wins both halves)
Home/Draw (Home team wins first half, match ends in a draw)
Home/Away (Home team wins first half, away team wins second half)
Draw/Home (Match is a draw at half time, home team wins second half)
Draw/Draw (Match is a draw at half time and full time)
Draw/Away (Match is a draw at half time, away team wins second half)
Away/Home (Away team wins first half, home team wins second half)
Away/Draw (Away team wins first half, match ends in a draw)
Away/Away (Away team wins both halves)
Double Chance Bet: This type of bet allows you to cover two of the three possible outcomes of a match, reducing your risk. You can bet on either Team 1 or Draw, Team 2 or Draw, or Team 1 or Team 2 to win.
Handicap Bet: Also known as the spread bet, this type of bet involves giving one team a virtual advantage or disadvantage to even the odds. For example, if Team 1 has a handicap of -1, they need to win by two goals or more for you to win the bet. If they only win by one goal or draw, you lose the bet.
