Premier League
The match between Arsenal and Southampton will take place soon. In the previous two rounds, Arsenal let their leads slip against Liverpool and West Ham United, both times on the road. As a result, their lead at the top of the table is now only four points ahead of Manchester City (who has played one game less). Arsenal cannot afford another slip-up, especially since they are facing the current Premier League champions in what many consider to be the “match of the season.” They need to win, especially at home, where they have 12 wins out of 15 matches with an impressive 42 goals scored. They are the clear favorites, and the fact that they did not beat Southampton in their first encounter this season, despite having a halftime lead, will motivate them even more. T.Tomiyasu, W.Saliba, and M.Elneny are out for Arsenal.
Southampton is currently in last place on the table and is the main candidate to be relegated. They have been playing poorly lately, with only two points from their last six matches. They have problems both defensively and offensively and are among the teams with the fewest goals scored in the league. With 20 losses in 31 matches, their struggles have been apparent from the start of the season. While they have surprised favorites in away matches before, they are now huge underdogs, and anything other than a loss for them would be a massive surprise. J.Larios, V.Livramento, M.Salisu, A.Maitland-Niles, M.Orsic, and C.Adams are out for Southampton.
The expected lineups for Arsenal and Southampton are 4-2-3-1 and 4-5-1.
